The Soul Slam 2025

The 2025 Soul Slam is upon us. A new crop of singers will take the stage at the Lula Lounge on Sunday, January 26th, with hopes of taking home the $1000 cash prize. Doors will open at 6:30 for those with dinner reservations, with the show starting at 8pm. Last year’s winner, Oh, will be kicking off the show, and helping to crown the new champion.

Signature Events

  • THE SOUL SLAM

    The Soul Slam is an annual competition for singers who have original music to showcase. The show features up to twelve artists, singing their original songs, while the audience decides who should win the $1000 cash prize. Artists are signed up in November/December, and the showcase takes place on the final Sunday of January.

  • WHEN SISTERS SPEAK

    When Sisters Speak is the largest and longest running showcase of Black female spoken word artists in North America. Founded in 2000, this annual showcase continues to be a fixture on the annual entertainment schedule, featuring performers from Toronto, across Canada, the United States and the UK. When Sisters Speak takes place each March for Women's month.

  • MEMBERS ONLY

    Members Only turns the traditional poetry show on its head, bringing in music, singers, dance, and surprises. The show is a poetic, sensual playground, that builds audience participation into the show. Members Only takes place every spring, and as the saying goes, what happens at Members Only, stays at Members Only.

  • THE DWAYNE MORGAN ANNIVERSARY

    Each October, we celebrate another year of my career, with a live event that showcases different aspects of the work that I do.

  • WHEN BROTHERS SPEAK

    When Brothers Speak is the largest and longest running showcase of Black male spoken word artists in North America. Founded in 1999, this annual showcase continues to be a fixture on the annual entertainment schedule, featuring performers from Toronto, across Canada, the United States and the UK. When Brothers Speak is produced in November/December each year.
